A Slice of Delhi – Summer Blaze

Summer in New Delhi, the capital city of India, is scorching and temperatures can go as high as 48 Celcius (118 F).

Dilliwalahs”,  as we like to call ourselves enjoy all seasons year round, if winter brings with it grey foggy mornings, the summer announces its blazing arrival with scarlet boughs of the Gulmohar tree.

The Gulmohar tree with its frail leaves and flamboyant flowers dotting the capital’s tree lined roads is just one of the best things about an Indian summer.

  1. Now this made me think of Kenya where I used to live. Its intensity reminded me of the Madagascar Flame Trees that grow at the coast and then produce spectacular pods.
